The M.B.R. gets some much needed attention.
We moved back into the big house on January 26th, 2006.
The master bedroom has been painted and the base boards are primed. Now it's time to get the old original pine wood floor ready for life. The master bedroom floor has been scrubbed with a floor buffer and pad, cleaned and re-cleaned, spounged clean and cleaned again. The dirt between the boards has been dug out with a small flat tip screw driver and now it's time for more cleaning and fixing a few old bumps on the floor.
At the bottom of this page are photos of the master bedroom and the floor. Please remember the floor has been scrubbed, cleaned, dirt picked from between the boards and vacuumed. This is the floor when it was ready for the polyurethane.... It's all buffed out and ready for finishing.... It turned out pretty good.
The top row of photos are of the master bedroom floor with its third coat of polyurethane. After each polyurethane coat has dried I go back and lightly re-sand the floor. Once it has been sanded then it has to be cleaned all over again. Vacuumed real good then mopped a couple of times to remove the dust. Each polyurethane coat for the floor goes on in the same manner. The brilliance should be even greater after the third coat. Four coats is where I am headed.
In the last few days Daddy has finished installing the ceiling fan / light, two antique lights in the bathroom additionally he has engineered and installed lights to match the rought iron over the vanity mirror. It's all nice and a pleasant place to call our bedroom.
